Types of Silo-King®

Silo-King® is a field proven, laboratory tested, and university researched forage treatment programme.  It is available in dry or water soluble form which are both non-corrosive and non-toxic, making them safe for all livestock.

Dry Silo-King® is for continued successful use on:

*Application level dependent on variability of conditions (moisture, grass content, humidity, maturity, etc.) at harvest.
Ensiling forages under 20% dry matter is not recommended without an external sugar source.  Higher Silo-King® application rates may be necessary.
**High moisture grain must be crimped to expose the starch prior to ensiling.

Water Soluble

Silo-King® GS & Silo-King® MS comes in 400 gram packets.  Their water soluble form is easily used by producers and custom operators.

Organic use:  Silo-King® WS Special

Directions for use for MS and GS:

  1. 1) Thoroughly clean spraying equipment.
  2. 2) Add SIDE A of Silo-King® packet (containing dechlorinator and nutrients) to 100 litres of cool clean water.  NOTE:  Chlorine is harmful to lactic acid bacteria. 
  3. 3) Add SIDE B of Silo-King® packet (containing microbes and enzymes) to 100 litres declorinated water in step 2.  Mix well.

NOTE: Do not exceed 2 Kg/Sq. CM (30 P.S.I) spray pressure.

Directions for use for Special:

To treat any type silage or high moisture grain, dissolve package contents in cool, clean, non-chlorinated water and distribute evenly over feed at rate of four (4) to eight (8) grams Silo-King® WS Special per tonne.

Silo-King® WS Special contains naturally-occurring homolactic strains of lactic acid bacteria specifically selected to aid in the making of high quality feeds.

Silage dry matter should be 25% - 50%.  High moisture grains should be 30% - 40% moisture and cracked for best results.
