Silo-King® Variations

Silo-King® is a field proven, laboratory tested, and University researched forage treatment program.  It is available in four convenient forms which are all non-corrosive and non-toxic, making them safe for all livestock.

Dry Plus Water Soluble SGS

Dry

Dry Silo-King® is for continued successful use on:

  • Hay
  • Haylage
  • Balage
  • Corn Silage
  • High Moisture Cracked Grain
(Also available for organic use)

All types silage & haylage 60% to 70% moisture 0.2 - 0.5 lbs
All types silage & haylage 50% to 60% moisture 0.4 - 1.0 lbs
Silo stored grain 25% to 35% moisture** 0.4 - 1.0 lbs
Hay 15% to 20% moisture (Small square bales) 1.0 - 2.0 lbs
Hay 20% to 25% moisture (Small square bales) 2.0 - 3.0 lbs
Hay 15% to 18% moisture
(Large round and square bales)
2.0 - 2.5 lbs
Hay 19% to 22% moisture
(Large round and square bales)
3.0 - 4.0 lbs

For spreading over layers of baled hay in storage (15% to 25% moisture), mix 5 pounds of Silo-King® with 25 pounds salt and apply 2 to 4 pounds per ton of hay.

*Application level dependent on variability of conditions (moisture, grass content, maturity, etc.) at harvest.
**High moisture corn and other grains must be cracked or rolled to expose the starch prior to ensiling.

Water Soluble

Silo-King® WS comes in 200 and 1000 gram packets.  Its water soluble form is easily used by producers and custom operators.

Silo-King® WS works on:

  • Haylage
  • Balage
  • Corn Silage
  • High Moisture Cracked Grain

Directions for use:

All types of silage, haylage and balage at 60% to 70% moisture 4.0 – 8.0 grams
All types of silage, haylage and balage at 50% to 60% moisture 8.0 – 16.0 grams
Silo/bunker/bagged stored cracked grain at 25% to 40% moisture 8.0 – 16.0 grams

Silo-King® WS is NOT recommended for use on hay.

Silo-King® WS contains naturally-occurring homolactic strains of lactic acid bacteria specifically selected to aid in the making of high quality feeds.

Silo-King® PLUS offers clients a convenient method of applying Silo-King® directly to crops.

Silo-King® SGS is specifically designed and researched to work for better ensiling of small grain silages in dry or water soluble form.
